Bookpedia: z39.50 servers

Hi!

I'm trying to connect to my country's national library for the z39.50 records of somae portuguese books but I'm having some trouble.

My library is Biblioteca Nacional (from Portugal) and you can see it here:

Here is a list of other portuguese libraries that I would like to be able to search in Bookpedia:
http://zzz.porbase.org/view/searchForm.do

Almost all of them refer to the UNIMARC format. I don't think Bookpedia supports this format. Would it be possible to implement?

I'd really like to be able to search for my portuguese books...

Unfortunately the first server that you mentioned does not support USMarc, Marc XML, or Marc21.

However the second list has one supporting UKMarc the input into Bookpedia is:

Biblioteca Francisco Pereira de Moura 193.136.163.70:210/INNOPAC USMarc Latin1

The encoding, if not stated by your library, takes some trial and error to find.

Unfortunately as you mentioned many of the Portuguese libraries are unimarc, a French standard that we do not support at this time.

Thanks for the feedback though and we will add unimarc support to the feature request list.

I know that this is the question every developer hates but, as a user, I have to ask:

Any thoughts on when it will be implemented ? :p

Sorry, very few thoughts on that.. :p I have to admit, we're horrible with deadlines so even if I gave you a date now, we probably wouldn't make it. But we will try and get this done soon.

I'm another portuguese user who suffers from the same kind rejection: I can't get none of my portuguese books recognized (and, believe me, there's quite a few).
When will we get Unimarc support? Pleeeeease....
