Can Someone Explain Amazon Status?

Shouldn't there be some prominent, authoritative statement re: the state of the Pedia/Amazon connection? I've read through everything, and nobody's flat-out stated it. My vibe is that there's no connection at all. Is that right? Or is there limited functionality and/or workarounds?

I understand Conor’s got other concerns, and wish him the best. After years (decades!) of enormous enjoyment of these apps, I demand nothing further. I don't need an update on "when it will be fixed". Just a nice clear statement about what's broken!


Edit: after a number of Amazon searches fizzling, one just worked, and populated normally. So that's hopeful!
