Cannot scan with camera

Hello,

I am trying to decide which dvd library software to purchase. Last night I downloaded and tried Delicious Monster. Tonight I am trying DVDPedia.

Overall I like Pedia better but I cannot get my firewire camera to scan a barcode. The camera works for scanning cover art, it works in Final Cut express, iChat and iMovie. I have tried rebooting with no other software running. I have moved the firewire cable from the rear port to the front. Cycled the camera and the software several times. I have downloaded the current and the beta versions and CDPedia none will scan the barcode. All I get is a black screen with red lines.

Any ideas?

I am running 10.5.2 on a 2008 Mac Pro 8 core 2.8 ghz with 2G of ram.

Make sure you have all your extra QuickTime components updated to their latest version. For example Perian should be version 1.1. Otherwise try removing them from ~/Library/Quicktime and /Library/Quicktime as a test that they are not causing the blank screen. If it's still not working please email us any messages in the console log from DVDpedia so that we can dig further.

I sent an email, but here is what was in the log:

3/26/08 5:18:32 PM DVDpedia[202] *** Ignoring exception: Uncaught system exception: signal 11

Quicktime looked OK but I reinstalled just to be sure. Didn't make any difference.
