Pocketpedia for iPhone & iPad is now out (hurrah) and cheap, and this really supersedes my post. I find the sync just works, which is saying something with syncing.

The pedias aren't perfect, of course, but I like them; hope DVDpedia works for you.

With 5.1.0, importing an EyeTV file puts the series name in the title field, and nothing in the series field. The episode name is made the name of the file link, which is fine. iTunes fields, as Apple uses them, can be very frustrating - by the time you look at Album, Artist, Album Artist, and then the Sort versions of these. You have my sympathy.
