Re: What about laserdiscs?

I disagree about the efficacy of LDDB for the purposes of DVDpedia. LDDB doesn’t list the director, the stars, the date the film was released, the writer, the producer… in short, all the things *I* want to know about a film. LDDB concentrates on the physical qualities of the disc—how many discs in t...

It’s not just DVDpedia…

InDesign CS3, Photoshop CS3, Mail, Acrobat CS3, QuarkXpress 6.5.2, MSWord…all of the above programs refused to launch after I upgraded to 10.5.2. After an hour on the phone with Apple, they finally told me to Archive and Restore. Darn! Then I decided that, given the installation was a clean one, may...

Mac 10.5.2 kills DVDpedia

I just upgraded to Mac 10.5.2 this afternoon (it was an automatic upgrade), and now DVDpedia won’t launch. It was working fine beforehand.

A note on laserdiscs and DVDpedia

A note to "ejames" I have about 250 laserdiscs recorded into DVDpedia, and the only drawback is that if they haven't been released on DVD, you won't have a cover image on your entry. (And if you really care about that, you can always photograph your cover and drag it into place.) I've trie...

The LaserDisc Database is of no use

I’ve gotten a handle on the LDdB and it’s of no use to DVDpedia. The only data the LDdB handles have to do with the release date, the format, the kind of soundtrack aboard, and other technical stuff. For info on the director, stars, etc., you are referred to the IMdB (sometimes there’s a direct link...

Here’s one laserdisc database

I can’t quite figure out how to use it but try this:

http://www.lddb.com/

…that claims it’s “the largest free laserdisc database on the Internet.”

Could you really do it? That would be wonderful!

What about laserdiscs?

I know, I know…we're talking dinosaurs here. But there are quite a few films on LD that never made it to DVD—including some real gems. I once found a laserdisc site that had covers, reviews, and all. But I didn't bookmark it, and can't find it again. I know this is a far-out request, but could you c...
