Re: Possible to merge Bookpedia databases?
Thank you very much! Got it all sorted now, I think, after deleting something like 165 duplicate titles. In future I guess we will just have to be religiously careful to close Bookpedia after every use, and never be adding to it while another instance of the app is open. I also installed the beta fo...

Possible to merge Bookpedia databases?
Here's a "Gack" problem - My wife and I both work off of the same Bookpedia database, which is shared between my iMac and her laptop via the Dropbox folder. She didn't understand that she had to fully close Bookpedia to keep Dropbox from making backup copies, so for two months now, Dropbox...

Re: Amazon Associate ID
Also, I am noticing a new problem after downgrading from v5 to v4.6.8 - Amazon searches no longer fill in the genre or plot descriptions, or any other info beyond title and author. I assume this is something to do with the new locking of their database? Using 4.6.8, I can get 50 hits of a book on Am...

Re: Amazon Associate ID
I cannot get an associate ID since I live in NC. Should be possible to obtain an Amazon Web Services account (for the Access Key and Secret Key under v5 Preferences > Sites > Amazon Settings) in NC. You can use any Associate ID (for the Associate Tag); it doesn't have to be your own. It won't even ...

Re: Revert to previous version from version 5.0
I wish you the best of luck with Doghouse, and I can understand the need for an independent solution. Unfortunately, the bottom line means that for everyone ineligible for an Amazon Associates account due to location (I wish I'd screen-capped that message, as it was NC, Colorado, and five or six oth...

Re: Revert to previous version from version 5.0
I beg to differ - ALL of the Amazon options are now gone from my search sites. My apologies if I seem harsh, but it's the end of a very long day and having Bookpedia rendered defunct for me was not the best capper. It seems there's an unforseen problem with this new Amazon login situation - Now that...

Re: Summary text replacement?
I got it all sorted, thanks very much for your help! I've skimmed the library and occasionally still find new bits of HTML littered here and there, but have cleaned most of it up now via your SQL instructions. Bookpedia is a terrific program. I also got the database file relocated to our Dropbox fol...

Summary text replacement?
I just bought your program - It's terrific! For the last couple of years I've been clinging on to the Windows version of Book Collector in a virtual machine because their Mac version was not so hot, but I finally made the jump when I saw all that Bookpedia could do. I managed to export my old Book C...
