Re: reverting from 5.0 (bad) to 4.68 (good)

Thanks, Nora. I have moved up to 4.6.8, as you suggested. As for the rest of your answer, I will examine it closely and get back to you. Thanks, as ever, for your quick reply.

Re: reverting from 5.0 (bad) to 4.68 (good)

I have dithered about upgrading from my present CDpedia 4.6.5 to the new one, because I have sensed that there are problems, particularly over the loss of Amazon searches. I am delighted with CDpedia and have been from the first day I used it; apart from occasional gobbledegook, when getting details...

5.0 is here!

It sounds wonderful...........but, and this is something I've been wondering for a long time, it seems to be such a drastic change and I'm completely ecstatic about my existing version (which I've just checked is version 4.6.5). Is it possible to stick with that version - or will it one day stop wor...

Re: CDPedia - Isight

I wasn't sure where I should post this, but here seems to be quite appropriate. Having used CDPedia for almost three years with great satisfaction, I changed to the new version yesterday. Since then I have added four new CDs; I have never had such immediate success with the iSight camera. Each time ...

I've tried making the Edit window larger and can't make it go any further. I will try to send the email you requested.

Re: New MacBook pro with Snow Leopard

Thanks for all the help, Conor. Everything is working well now. I love the improvements, especially the cover flow! One small problem has arisen today, which I'm sure has an easy answer. When entering a four-disc collection (Ella Fitzgerald - Twelve Nights in Hollywood), everything went straightforw...

Re: New MacBook pro with Snow Leopard

Amazing! Within a couple of minutes I got up to "738 items added" and now everything is on Spotlight. Many thanks for the help. In a way, doesn't this duplicate what can already be done by putting Beethoven into the Q box (not sure what to call it) at the top of the CDpedia page, especiall...

Re: New MacBook pro with Snow Leopard

iSight is now amazing. Really quick, even in poor light. The only type of CD it struggled with was the glossy style of box. Congratulations on a great step forward. I've been looking at the Spotlight feature. Doing a search on Beethoven, for example, brings the single CD I've just entered, but not t...

Re: New MacBook pro with Snow Leopard

Thanks Conor. I had already found the Cover Flow, which looks good. I will experiment with the Spotlight feature. I had a few problems with my old (2006) MacBook Pro's camera, but concluded that the efficiency was much better in good daylight! I am looking forward to putting some new discs in over t...

New MacBook pro with Snow Leopard

I have been a very satisfied CDpedia user now for more than two years. Once I had got over a few uncertainties at the beginning, it has worked so well that I have only had an occasional look at this forum. I had no intention of moving from my 4 year old MacBook Pro, so when I read of new features on...

Re: Multi-disc sets in CDpedia

I was meaning to download the beta, as you suggested. But when I went to use CDpedia a few minutes ago, I was offered the chance to download the updated version of CDpedia (was it 4.3.1?) Are they the same thing? (Beta and 4.3.1?) Do I need both? Or just the new version? Sorry if the answer is very ...

Re: Multi-disc sets in CDpedia

Thanks for that help. When I download the beta and get asked what Firefox should do with the file, what do I do? There seems to be a choice of Open with Stuffit Expander or Save to Disc? Are there directions about what to do after that? Sorry to ask what is probably a very obvious question! Is the w...

Re: Multi-disc sets in CDpedia

I had the same problem when adding a 2 disc set last week: 5022810192824 - a Cleo Laine/John Dankworth set. I dragged the titles of the tracks around and they renumbered from 1 - 42. So what I've now got is fine. However, should I download the beta you refer to? Will that interfere with my renumberi...

Re: CD ALbum with Multiple CDs

I've got a lot of sets like that. It's no problem. I simply press "Edit", go to Tracks and add CD1 etc in the appropriate places. All the details are then displayed when the Info button is pressed. Or have I missed the point that nicoscos is making?

Re: Upgrade to Leopard?

Thanks for that information, Conor. I've looked at the clip you referred me to, and to the others I found there, and I am convinced. I might not upgrade immediately, but I can now see that it's a worthwhile improvement. Thanks very much.
