Thanks Nora. This is a very cool feature. Now it would be great if we could start playing the DVD from QuickLook or CoverFlow. In order to use Spotlight DVDpedia creates a file for each entry in your database at ~/Library/Caches/MetaData/DVDpedia. (We got this ideas from iCal and Safari, they also u...

DVDpedia: how to take advantage of the QuickLook plug-in?

From the 4.0.7 DVDpedia release notes: "QuickLook plug-in" How can I take advantage of this feature? As far as I can see the DVDpedia library is one big file. So it wouldn't make sense to use quicklook on Leopard to browse the file. Unless the plugin would look inside of the DVDpedia datab...

Thanks Conor for pointing in the right direction! The info.xml as well as the Database.pediadata had not been visible. I found out by looking at the directory in terminal. All xml files as well as the pediadata file at the extended attribute flag set. Not sure why that happend. Need to do more resea...

I agree. That really is a problem.

Supporting Bonjour (finally) would fix it in a nice and easy way.

Yes, thats fine. Where would I found that information? I was checking the documentation but found no hint to option-p.

Also, could you add space and/or return key in a future version? That would be more a) more obvious and more in sync with iTunes, iPhoto etc. pp.

Thanks!

[DVDpedia] Keyboard support in full screen mode

Hi, most of my DVDpedia movies are linked to the files on my hard disc so I can watch them directly from DVDpedia. However, when i'm in full screen mode browsing my movie library I still need to use the mouse to select the white triangle in the lower right corner to start playing the movie. It would...

Hi Conor, thanks for the quick reply. I know all workarounds (see my other threads on this) ;-) But unfortunatly they won't solve the problem. Apple could have suggested the same workarounds for iTunes - why do you think they included Bonjour technology instead? The feature I described is critical t...

DVDpedia not network ready

Hello, I'm missing a feature in DVD pedia that works similiar to iTunes capability of sharing an entire library over the network. iTunes uses bonjour technology to broadcast the library. With the increased deployment of Macs across our house it gets more and more difficult to keep the local DVDpedia...

yes, i know ;-)

I would say this is another workaround for a missing Rendezvous implementation. And as you said yourself, this would require sharing one folder on the server side and mounting this folder on the client side.

Rendezvous makes that process so much simpler... ;-)

Yes, I know this ;-) What you suggested is a nice workaround for the missing feature described here. There are actually a couple of issues with an HTML export: 1. the exported library is never up-to-date 2. you have to set up a web-server 3. you have to manually 'synchronize' between the library and...

Rendezvous support

Hello, it would be nice to have Rendezvous support in DVDpedia. Similiar to how iTunes supports it. Motivation: I want to put my DVDpedia library on our home server and give the whole family (read) access to it. I know I could do the same with file sharing technology - but this would be so much hard...
